BREAK RULES & LIVE BREAK POLICY
Welcome to Primetime Sportscards live breaks! By purchasing a break spot, you acknowledge and agree to the following rules and conditions.
Our goal is to make breaks fun, fair, transparent, and exciting for everyone involved.
1. What Is a Break?
A live break is where sealed sports card products are opened live, and cards are distributed based on the break format listed at the time of purchase.
Break formats may include, but are not limited to:
• Random Team
• Pick Your Team (PYT)
• Random Division
• Random Pack
• Hit Draft
• Player Breaks
• Serial Number Breaks
Please read the individual break listing carefully, as each break may have slightly different rules.
2. All sales are final
All live break purchases are final.
Because live breaks involve randomised outcomes, we do not offer refunds or cancellations for:
• Change of mind
• Not hitting a desired card
• Not receiving a particular player or team
• Dissatisfaction with break results
• Market value changes after purchase
This includes:
• Break spots
• Random team entries
• Player slots
• Division slots
• Any other break-related purchase
3. Payment Terms
• All break spots must be paid for in full before the break begins.
• Unpaid spots may be cancelled or offered to another customer at our discretion.
• If payment is not received within the timeframe specified, your spot may be forfeited.
4. Randomisation Rules
For any break involving random allocation (such as Random Team or Random Division):
• Randomisation will be performed live or using a transparent method before the break begins.
• Teams, divisions, packs, or other assigned categories will be allocated fairly.
• Once randomisation is completed, results are final.
If a participant purchases multiple spots, they may receive multiple teams/slots unless otherwise stated in the listing.
5. Multi-Team Cards / Dual Autos / Relics / Booklets
If a card features multiple players, teams, or franchises, the card will be awarded using one of the following methods (unless otherwise stated in the break listing):
Option A – Majority Ownership
The card goes to the participant who owns the majority of teams/players shown on the card.
Option B – Random Between Eligible Owners
If no participant has majority ownership, the card will be randomised between the eligible owners.
Option C – Same Owner
If one participant owns all teams/players shown, the card goes directly to that participant.
Important:
The exact method used can be specified in the break listing, but if not specified, Primetime Sportscards reserves the right to apply a fair and reasonable method.
6. Collegiate / Teamless / International / Non-Licensed Cards
For cards that do not clearly show a professional team, cards will generally be assigned as follows:
• Current team at the time of release, where reasonably applicable
• Rookie cards typically go to the team the player is most commonly associated with for that release
• Retired players / legends may go to the team they are most associated with
• Teamless / unlicensed cards will be assigned at our discretion using a consistent and reasonable approach
If needed, Primetime Sportscards will make the final ruling on card allocation.
7. Base Cards / Veteran Cards / Bulk Commons
Depending on the break format, not all base cards may ship.
Some breaks may include:
• All cards ship
• Hits only
• Rookies, parallels, inserts, and hits only
• Vet base does not ship
Please check the specific break listing for details.
If not otherwise stated, Primetime Sportscards reserves the right to determine how bulk base cards are handled to keep shipping efficient and affordable.
8. Condition of Cards
Cards are pulled directly from sealed product, but condition is not guaranteed.
Cards may contain manufacturer defects including:
• Surface scratches
• Print lines
• Edge wear
• Corner wear
• Off-centering
• Chipping
• Factory damage
Primetime Sportscards is not responsible for manufacturer defects or grading outcomes.
If a card is visibly damaged out of the pack, we may assist where possible, but responsibility for factory defects ultimately lies with the manufacturer.
9. Sealed Product Variations / Manufacturer Issues
We do not control:
• Card collation
• Missing hits
• Panini/Topps/Fanatics manufacturing errors
• Redemption cards
• Shorted boxes
• Packaging defects
• Delayed releases
If a manufacturer issue occurs, Primetime Sportscards will handle it reasonably and transparently, but cannot guarantee replacement outcomes.
10. Technical Issues During Live Breaks
If a livestream experiences issues such as:
• Internet interruption
• Platform outages
• Audio issues
• Camera issues
• Stream disconnection
We may:
• Pause the break
• Resume the break once the issue is resolved
• Continue recording if necessary
• Reschedule the remainder of the break if required
Any reasonable steps taken to complete the break fairly and transparently will be considered valid.
11. Shipping of Break Hits
Break shipments may be:
• Combined with other break shipments
• Held temporarily to consolidate multiple breaks (if requested or offered)
• Sent separately depending on break format
Shipping rules may vary between breaks, and the break listing should always be checked for details.
12. Unsold Teams / House Teams
If a break has unsold teams or spots:
• Primetime Sportscards may retain them as “house teams”
• We may offer them as giveaways, promotions, or bonus spots
• We may combine, discount, or otherwise manage them at our discretion
13. Conduct & Fair Play
We want our breaks to be a fun, respectful environment.
We reserve the right to refuse service, remove participants, or cancel orders where there is:
• Abusive behaviour
• Harassment
• Payment issues
• Fraud concerns
• Chargeback abuse
• Conduct that disrupts the community or stream
14. Final Decision Clause
By entering a break, you acknowledge that Primetime Sportscards may need to make rulings on uncommon or unexpected situations.
In the event of:
• Unclear card ownership
• Unusual checklist situations
• Teamless cards
• Multi-player cards
• Manufacturer errors
• Technical issues
Primetime Sportscards’ decision will be final, provided it is made honestly, reasonably, and in the spirit of fairness.
Nothing in these Break Rules limits any rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable New Zealand consumer law.
